We are pleased to invite abstract submissions for session AS08 on "Climate Extremes and Compound Events: Monitoring, Mechanism and Projection" at the upcoming AOGS 2025 Annual Meeting. As global warming intensifies, climate extremes pose increasing threats to societies worldwide, particularly in vulnerable regions of Asia. The co-occurrence of multiple extremes (compound events) can lead to even more devastating impacts. The session aims to bring together researchers working on various aspects of climate extremes, from monitoring and attribution to mechanism understanding and future projection.
