Welcome! Call for abstract for Session AS78 of AOGS 2024
"Climate Extremes and Compound Extremes in Asia: Monitoring, Mechanism and Projection"
Conveners: Lin Wang (王林, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, CAS), Wen Chen (陈文, Yunnan University)
Chakrit Chotamonsak (Chiangmai University), Kritanai Torsri (Hydro-Informatics Institute of Thailand)
We are seeking abstract submissions for session AS78 on "Climate Extremes and Compound Extremes in Asia: Monitoring, Mechanism and Projection."
This session aims to bring together researchers investigating different aspects of climate extremes across Asia, including heatwaves, droughts, floods, tropical cyclones, and compound events. We welcome studies using observations, diagnostics, modeling, and projections focused on (but not limited to):
- Observed changes in climate extreme indices over the past decades across different regions of Asia
- Developing composite indices to better monitor the occurrence of compound extremes
- Improving understanding of the physical mechanisms and dynamic processes that drives high impact events, either individual or compound extremes
- Projections of future changes in climate extremes over Asia based on global and regional climate model simulations under different global warming scenarios
Please submit your abstract via the AOGS online submission system.
We eagerly await your contributions on this critical topic !
